SP Free Walking Tour
Tip-based walking tours of São Paulo's old downtown, Vila Madalena and Avenida Paulista, run in English and Portuguese by local guides several days a week.
A guided tour of Corinthians's Neo Química Arena, opened in 2014, led by fan hosts through the dressing room, press room, warm-up area and pitch.
Good to know
The Tour Casa do Povo, the tour of the People's House, takes fans inside the Neo Química Arena, the home of Sport Club Corinthians Paulista in Itaquera. The stadium was inaugurated on 10 May 2014, and the tour is designed, in the club's own words, to celebrate the supporters' love for Timão, the nickname of Corinthians. The hosts who lead the groups are themselves Corinthians fans, which gives the visit a lively, personal tone.
The route covers areas normally reserved for players and the media. Visitors pass through the atrium and a hospitality box, see the Sala das Invasões and visit the press conference room and the mixed zone. The tour continues through the warm-up area and the dressing room before heading out to the pitch, and it ends at the Galeria SCCP, which celebrates the club. The arena notes that the itinerary may change without notice, which is worth bearing in mind on days around matches and events.
Visits are booked online through the link on the arena's tour page. The page does not publish fixed days, times or durations, so check availability when booking and allow time for the journey to Itaquera. For questions, contact the arena on +55 11 3152 4001 or by email at [email protected].
The tour suits football fans, families with young players and anyone who wants to understand the passion that surrounds Corinthians. Even visitors without a team will enjoy the chance to stand in a modern stadium's dressing room and walk onto the pitch. If you are visiting several stadiums, the Morumbis Tour of São Paulo FC and the Allianz Parque tour of Palmeiras complete the set of the city's big three clubs.
Plan a half day for the trip, including travel. The arena's general contact line can help with questions about access and booking before you set off. Combine the tour with a visit to the Museu do Futebol on another day to see the bigger story of football in Brazil, from its arrival with the English elite to its place in national culture. The museum, built into the stands of the Pacaembu stadium and opened in 2008 with Pelé present, is free on Tuesdays.
