Four Seasons Hotel Casablanca
An oceanfront luxury hotel on the Corniche, opened in 2015 in a Foster + Partners building, with 184 rooms and suites, a year-round pool and a…
A 16-room boutique hotel in a 1930s Art Deco mansion in the city centre, a Relais & Châteaux member since 2018, with a small spa and the Le Jasmine restaurant.
Good to know
Hotel Le Doge is the most characterful small hotel in Casablanca, and the ideal base for anyone drawn by the city's Art Deco heritage. It occupies a private mansion from the 1930s in the city's Art Deco district, and its architecture and period details have been carried through into the interiors. According to the hotel's own legend, an Italian entrepreneur gave the house to his wife, whom he had met in Morocco. Since 2018 it has been a member of Relais & Châteaux.
There are only 16 rooms and suites, divided between standard rooms, executive rooms, junior suites and suites. Each is inspired by a different figure of the Art Deco era, from Coco Chanel to Ernest Hemingway, which gives every room its own personality and makes the hotel feel more like a private house than a hotel. The small scale gives the hotel an intimate, personal atmosphere, and the themed rooms make it a memorable choice for a special trip. Room categories range from standard rooms to full suites, so it is worth comparing the options before you book if you want more space.
The Le Jasmine restaurant serves traditional Moroccan cuisine, and Le Doge Café offers a more casual setting for coffee and lighter meals. The hotel's intimate spa offers steam baths with eucalyptus, argan oil massages and a hammam, a welcome way to unwind after a day of sightseeing. The hotel also promotes rooftop moments with a Mediterranean feel, so ask about outdoor options when the weather is good.
Le Doge suits couples, solo travellers and design lovers who prefer character to the scale of a large international hotel. With so few rooms, it is wise to reserve early, particularly in spring and autumn. Families with young children may find the larger hotels, with pools and more space, more practical.
The hotel is on Rue du Docteur Veyre in the centre, a short taxi ride from Parc de la Ligue Arabe, the Sacré-Cœur, the Abderrahman Slaoui Museum and the Art Deco buildings around Mohammed V Square and Boulevard Mohammed V. Taxis can also take you to the Hassan II Mosque or the Corniche in a short time, making it a convenient base for the whole city.
