Good to know
Lidkoeb is a cocktail bar in Vesterbro, tucked away from the traffic of Vesterbrogade at the back of a courtyard. You reach it through the passage at number 72B, and cross the courtyard to the front door of one of the city's most atmospheric places for a drink. In colder months part of the courtyard is covered and heated, so you can sit outside even on autumn evenings.
The bar is spread over several floors. The main bar serves a menu of cocktails, and at the top of the building is the whisky bar, which Lidkoeb calls the hideout in the attic, with vintage leather sofas and an open fireplace. It is a cosy spot on a winter night and a good choice for anyone who prefers a dram of whisky to a mixed drink. The whisky bar opens on Fridays and Saturdays.
Lidkoeb suits couples, groups of friends and anyone looking for a relaxed but polished evening in Vesterbro. It is lively at weekends, when the courtyard and bars fill up, and calmer earlier in the week. Prices are in line with other quality cocktail bars in Copenhagen. Private events can be arranged through the events section of the website, and gift cards are also available.
The bar is closed on Sundays. On Monday it opens from 18:00 to midnight and on Tuesday from 16:00 to midnight, while from Wednesday to Saturday it is open from 16:00 to 02:00. Tables can be reserved online through the booking link on the website, which is a good idea for Friday and Saturday evenings, especially for groups. Without a reservation, arrive early in the evening for the best chance of a seat.
Lidkoeb is on Vesterbrogade, the long main street of Vesterbro, within walking distance of Copenhagen Central Station and close to the bars and restaurants of the surrounding side streets. Mikkeller Bar on Viktoriagade, the Meatpacking District and the hotels of Vesterbro, including Steel House, are all within walking distance, so Lidkoeb works well as part of an evening out in this part of the city.
Gift cards are sold online through the bar's website, which is handy if you want to treat a friend who lives in the city.
