Good to know
Singapore River Cruise runs the bumboats that glide along the Singapore River, a 40-minute trip linking Clarke Quay, Boat Quay and Marina Bay. Along the way you pass restored shophouses, historic bridges and godowns before the river opens out to the Merlion, the Fullerton Hotel and the Marina Bay skyline, giving a compact sense of how the city grew from its old trading waterfront.
Walk-ins are welcome, and boats board at Clarke Quay Jetty, Bayfront South and Clifford Pier, and Read Bridge, each with its own departure hours. An evening cruise, when the skyline and riverside bars are lit up, is the most atmospheric option. Adult tickets cost S$28 and children aged 3 to 11 pay S$18.
