Good to know
Singapore DUCKtours runs a 60-minute live-guided tour in a refurbished amphibious vehicle dating from the Vietnam War, which drives through the city and then rolls straight into Marina Bay. The route takes in the Civic District, including the Old Supreme Court and War Memorial Park, before cruising past the Merlion, the Esplanade, Marina Bay Sands and Gardens by the Bay from the water.
It is a light-hearted introduction to the city that works particularly well for families and first-time visitors who want to get their bearings quickly. Tours depart from the tourist hub at Suntec City Tower 2, a short walk from Promenade and Esplanade MRT stations. Book ahead during school holidays, and check for road closures during the Formula 1 race week.
