Hotel
Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok
Bangkok's grand old riverside hotel, first opened in the 1870s, with a historic Authors' Wing, acclaimed restaurants, a renowned spa and the Bamboo Bar.
An intimate riverside hotel of 101 suites and villas on Charoen Krung, home to Mauro Colagreco's two-Michelin-star Côte and the Auriga Wellness spa.
Good to know
Capella Bangkok is a low-rise retreat with just 101 suites and villas, every one facing the Chao Phraya. Rooms start at a generous 61 square metres, and seven riverside villas, some with outdoor plunge pools, sit right at the water's edge, including a two-bedroom Presidential Villa.
Dining is led by Côte by Mauro Colagreco, which holds two Michelin stars, and the Auriga Wellness spa is a key part of the stay. Guests can join cultural activities such as painting a Khon mask, and families can use the Little Stars children's programme. It shares the riverfront with the Four Seasons, in the creative Charoen Krung district, so galleries and cafés are close by.
