Why we recommend it

Le Perchoir Ménilmontant set the template for the Paris rooftop bar boom. Set on the seventh floor of an industrial building in the 11th arrondissement, the terrace mixes cushioned seating, a pergola, planters of tomatoes and vines, and a long bar, with the dome of Sacré-Cœur on the skyline.

The bar opens Tuesday to Saturday from 6pm until 2am, except when the space is privatised, and the restaurant on the floor below serves Italian-American food from the Vecchio team. Arrive early on warm evenings, as the terrace fills quickly; the booking calendar opens three weeks ahead. Ménilmontant and Rue Saint-Maur Métro stations are close by.
