Bar
Harry’s New York Bar
A historic American-style bar near the Opéra, open since 1911 and long said to be the birthplace of the Bloody Mary and the French 75.
A Haut-Marais taqueria with a cocktail bar behind it specialising in agave spirits, run by the Quixotic Projects group.
Good to know
From the street, Candelaria looks like a small taqueria serving traditional Mexican tacos to a steady stream of customers. Walk through the dining area, though, and a door at the back leads to a cocktail bar devoted to agave spirits, from tequila and mezcal to inventive house creations.
The bar opens from 6pm until 2am, while the taqueria serves from midday. Tacos make an easy first stop before drinks. The taqueria does not take reservations, but you can reserve for the cocktail bar, which is worth doing at weekends. It is part of the Quixotic Projects group, which runs several bars in Paris.
