Taste Hungary
Budapest's first food tour company, running culinary walks since 2008, with daily Hungarian wine tastings in its cellar in the Palace District.
A tour company in the inner city running guided bike, e-bike and Segway tours of Budapest, from one-hour rides to four-hour city tours.
Good to know
Yellow Zebra Tours runs guided tours on two wheels from its office on Régi posta utca, a small street just off Váci utca in the inner city. Budapest is a good city to explore by bike or Segway: the riverbanks are flat, the distances between the main sights on the Pest side are short, and a guide can steer you through the traffic and onto quieter routes while explaining what you are seeing.
The range of tours is wide. Classic bike tours last around four hours and include a café stop, and there is a ride focused on Danube views as well as a winter bike tour for the colder months. E-bike tours make the hills of Buda much easier, with a four-hour all-in-one tour of both sides of the river and a shorter tour of about two and a half hours focused on Buda Castle. Segway tours come in one-hour, two-and-a-half-hour and three-hour versions, and the company also offers so-called monster bike tours on large-wheeled scooters, as well as private tours for groups.
Tours suit active travellers, couples, groups of friends and families with older children who are confident riders. The e-bike options are particularly useful if you want to see Castle Hill or Gellért Hill without a long climb. Check what equipment is included and any age and height requirements for Segways and e-bikes when booking.
Book in advance online, especially in summer and at weekends, and check the current schedule on the official website, since tours and times vary through the year. Dress for the weather, wear closed shoes and bring a small bag you can carry easily. Questions can be sent by phone or WhatsApp.
Régi posta utca is in the heart of the inner city, between Váci utca and the Danube promenade. Vörösmarty tér station on metro line M1 is a few minutes' walk away, and Ferenciek tere on M3 is also close. Gerbeaud, the Pesti Vigadó and the river are all nearby, which makes it easy to combine a tour with coffee and a walk afterwards. If you have only one full day in Budapest, a longer bike or e-bike tour in the morning is an efficient way to cover both banks of the river before an afternoon at a museum or thermal bath.
