Bar
Kenzi Tower Sky Bar
The sky bar on the 28th floor of the Kenzi Tower Hotel in the Twin Center, with 360-degree views across Casablanca.
A Mediterranean restaurant and cocktail bar 23 storeys up at the Royal Mansour, with views over the White City to the Hassan II Mosque and a DJ every evening.
Good to know
Le Rooftop is the most glamorous place in Casablanca for an evening drink with a view. It sits 23 storeys above the city at the Royal Mansour Casablanca, the palace hotel in a 1950s Art Deco landmark near the port, and its windows look out across the White City to the Atlantic and the minaret of the Hassan II Mosque. Arriving just before sunset is the best way to see the light change over the rooftops and the ocean.
It works on two levels. By day it is a Mediterranean restaurant, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner every day, with dishes that draw on Middle Eastern, Italian and Asian influences, such as fish kebabs and vegetable pesto risotto. In the evening the cocktail bar comes into its own, and a live DJ plays from 19:00 until midnight, giving the space the atmosphere of a stylish lounge rather than a club. You can come just for a drink or make a full evening of dinner and cocktails.
On Sundays a brunch is served from 13:00 to 16:00, and it makes a good way to spend a long, relaxed afternoon. Reservations are recommended, especially for sunset tables and for the brunch, and can be made by phone or WhatsApp. Dress smartly, in keeping with the setting of a palace hotel.
Le Rooftop suits couples, groups of friends celebrating an occasion and anyone who wants to see Casablanca from above in comfort. It is one of the more expensive places to drink in the city, but the view and the setting justify a special evening. If you prefer something calmer, come for lunch or an afternoon coffee and fresh juice instead, when the views are just as good.
The Royal Mansour is on Avenue des Forces Armées Royales, close to the old medina, the port and Boulevard Mohammed V, so it is easy to reach on foot from the city centre or by a short taxi ride from the Corniche. Combine a drink here with dinner at La Grande Table Marocaine in the same hotel, or with a late-evening visit to Rick's Café on the edge of the medina.
