A large Jing-A Brewing taproom on Qianliang Hutong with 32 taps, draft cocktails and brick-oven sourdough pizzas in a vintage industrial setting.
Good to know
Jing-A Brewing is one of Beijing's best-known craft breweries, founded in 2012 by Alex Acker and Kristian Li, two North Americans who had lived in the city since 2000. Its Longfusi taproom, at 38 Qianliang Hutong in Dongcheng, is one of the brewery's eight Beijing outlets, which it calls beer temples.
The taproom has 32 taps pouring the brewery's full line-up, plus six draft cocktails. The space seats more than 150 people around a large U-shaped bar under high ceilings, with a vintage industrial look modelled on the brewery's first taproom, Jing-A 1949. Food is thin-crust sourdough pizza baked in a large brick oven, which makes it a good place for dinner as well as drinks.
Jing-A's beers include Flying Fist IPA, Worker's Pale Ale, Airpocalypse Double IPA and Koji Red Ale, and the brewery is known for experimenting with unusual ingredients. Lost Plate's 2026 guide to hutong bars recommends Worker's Pale Ale and Black Velvet Vanilla Stout here. Jing-A has also brewed collaboration beers with breweries in the United States, Norway and around China, including a joint beer with several other Beijing brewers.
According to the brewery, the taproom opens at 11am and stays open late. Lost Plate lists hours of 11am to midnight from Sunday to Thursday and 11am to 2am on Friday and Saturday, so it works for a long lunch as well as late drinks. Call the taproom on +86 186 1409 9689 for events or group bookings.
The taproom suits groups of friends and beer enthusiasts, thanks to the pizza menu and the large space. It is a lively, busy place in the evenings rather than a quiet bar. The brewery's story began small: its first professional brewery opened in early 2013 inside a bistro in the embassy district, and its first taproom followed in Sanlitun in 2014. Its Wangjing taproom, the first on two floors, has 26 taps and serves fried chicken and dessert beer shakes, if you want to compare outlets.
Great Leap Brewing's original courtyard bar on Doujiao Hutong makes an easy comparison if you want to try two of Beijing's pioneering craft breweries in one evening. Jing-A also has taprooms elsewhere in the city, including in the 798 Art Zone, Wangjing and the CBD, so you can find its beers across Beijing.
