Good to know
Bacchanal Buffet at Caesars Palace is the modern version of a Las Vegas tradition, and for many visitors a buffet is a part of the trip that cannot be skipped. Caesars describes it as the largest buffet in Las Vegas, covering more than 25,000 square feet, with ten kitchens, nine chef-attended action stations and more than 250 dishes. The dining room has a nature-inspired design that feels a world away from the old casino buffets.
The range is the reason to come. Dishes change, but the buffet showcases dozens of cuisines, from Roman-style pizza and carne asada tacos to ahi tuna poke, Singaporean blue crab and a Cajun seafood boil, along with an Asian station and plenty of desserts. At weekend brunch, dishes such as huevos divorciados join the line-up. Chefs cook to order at the action stations, so walk the whole room before filling your plate and come back for the dishes that catch your eye.
Reservations are made through OpenTable, and booking ahead is the best way to avoid a long wait, particularly at weekends and on holidays. On Monday to Thursday afternoons, an Early Bird Dinner between 2.30pm and 4pm offers dinner service at an earlier hour and also requires a reservation. Groups of 13 or more should contact the resort directly.
The buffet suits families, groups of friends and anyone with a big appetite, and it is a good choice for mixed groups where everyone wants something different. It is at the higher end of buffet prices, so arrive hungry and take your time. The resort's dress rules require shoes and shirts at all times and do not allow swimwear, robes or sheer clothing, so do not come straight from the pool. Allow around 90 minutes to two hours for a relaxed meal.
Bacchanal is inside Caesars Palace on the central Strip. The resort is across Las Vegas Boulevard from The LINQ and the High Roller, so it is easy to reach on foot from the central Strip. After eating, a walk along the Strip is a good way to recover. Check the website for current opening times and prices, which vary between brunch and dinner and between weekdays and weekends.
