Good to know
Turibus runs sightseeing buses in several Mexican cities, and its Cancún operation is an easy way to get your bearings in a city split between the Hotel Zone and a separate mainland centre. A one-day ticket covers two circuits: the Hotel Zone Circuit, which takes about two hours to run the length of Boulevard Kukulcán, and the Downtown circuit, which shows the mainland city most visitors miss.
The buses carry onboard WiFi and an audio guide in Spanish and English, and travel insurance is included. Stops on the Hotel Zone route include marinas such as Marina Aquaworld at kilometre 15.3, the starting point for many boat trips, and the circuits make it easy to combine beaches, shopping and sights such as the Museo Maya without arranging taxis.
Beyond the city tour, Turibus sells longer packages. Turibus plus Catamaran takes about seven hours, with return transport on the bus to the maritime terminal, a catamaran trip and a buffet meal. The Turitour to Chichén Itzá is a full day of about twelve hours, with return transport to the archaeological zone and a buffet meal, making it one of the simpler ways to reach the Maya city without driving. A Gold Pass of about ten hours bundles the bus with entry to Ripley's Believe It or Not!, the Wax Museum and the Sky Wheel Cancún.
Turibus suits first-time visitors who want an overview before deciding where to spend more time, families who prefer a simple, structured day, and travellers without a car. Because one ticket covers both circuits, it also works as a practical way to move between downtown hotels and the beaches for a day.
Tickets and the latest prices are available on the Turibus website, and customer service is handled through WhatsApp and an online help centre. Check the circuit pages for stops, frequencies and operating hours before you go, as these are not shown on the main Cancún page.
For a fuller picture of the city, combine the Downtown circuit with time at Mercado 28 and the Parque de las Palapas, and use the Hotel Zone circuit to reach Playa Delfines, the El Rey ruins and the Museo Maya in the south.
