HROOF

HROOF is a nightclub set on the roof of Harry's steakhouse at kilometre 14.2 of Boulevard Kukulcán. It is run by Grupo Anderson's, the group behind Harry's, Porfirio's and Señor Frog's, and it presents itself as having reinvented Cancún's nightlife with a design that keeps the atmosphere intimate while the music stays high-energy.

The club opens on Friday and Saturday nights from 22:00 to 04:00. Live DJs are the main draw, and México Desconocido's guide to the city's clubs describes a soundtrack of electronic music and deep house with international DJs, a chic crowd and a strict admission policy. Dress to match, and expect the door staff to be selective on busy nights.

Inside, the space is divided into a series of table areas of different sizes, from small groups of five up to VIP zones for fifteen, along with a separate space called The Room and a VIP section. A floor plan is published on the group's website, which helps when booking a table. Groups of ten or more can arrange packages with a choice of three menus and an open bar in two tiers, Platinum and Premium, with mixers included.

Security and getting home are taken seriously. HROOF offers valet parking and a "You drink, we drive" service, in which a driver takes you home in your own car, which is a sensible option on a night out on the boulevard.

HROOF suits couples and groups of friends who want a more grown-up night than the Punta Cancún mega-clubs, with good sound and table service. Grupo Anderson's also publishes a floor plan with capacities for each area, from the Golden zone for fifteen guests to smaller tables for five, so it is easy to choose the right size of table for your group. It is a natural follow-on from dinner at Harry's or Porfirio's downstairs, or at Puerto Madero and Fred's a short walk along the boulevard.
