Good to know
Chili Paste Tour has run Thai food and culture tours since 2012, built around eating with local cooks and vendors. In the city, the Old Bangkok Food and Culture Walk explores Banglamphu and the Thonburi Food and Art Walk crosses the river, while day trips head out to the markets and farms of the Tha-Jeen River and to Amphawa and Tha Kha floating markets.
For a hands-on experience, the Countryside Cooking Class takes place in Samut Songkhram province, and there are multi-day food trips further afield. Most day tours can be booked on any day, but the floating markets trip runs on weekends only. Prices vary with group size, so contact the team by email or phone to arrange dates. The company holds a Tourism Authority of Thailand licence.
