Restaurant
Narisawa
Chef Yoshihiro Narisawa's acclaimed Aoyama restaurant, serving a seasonal tasting menu built around Japanese ingredients, forests and the farming landscape.
Zaiyu Hasegawa's playful modern kaiseki restaurant in Jingumae, known for warm hospitality and a seasonal tasting menu with a sense of humour.
Good to know
Den is the restaurant of chef Zaiyu Hasegawa, who takes the structure of kaiseki, Japan's seasonal multi-course meal, and makes it relaxed, witty and personal. Dishes follow the seasons and Japanese ingredients, but the mood is closer to a dinner party than a formal temple of cuisine, with the team keen to make guests feel at home.
Getting a table is the challenge. Bookings are taken by phone only, from 12:00 to 17:00 Monday to Saturday, up to two months ahead and for groups of up to four; the restaurant says it does not accept reservations via online platforms or third parties. It is closed on Sundays and some extra dates. The entrance is on Gaien-nishi-dori, inside the JIA architects' building, about ten minutes' walk from Gaienmae Station on the Ginza Line.
