Why we recommend it

The Oberoi Rajvilas is a resort-style hotel set in 32 acres of landscaped gardens on Goner Road, about 10 km from central Jaipur. It ranks among India's most highly regarded hotels: in 2026 it topped the Condé Nast Traveler Readers' Choice Awards for India and appeared on the Michelin Key list.

Accommodation is spread across the grounds. Premier rooms come in several forms, some with a private pool, garden or patio. Luxury tents, with either a private garden or a private pool, give a safari-camp feel with hotel comforts, while the Royal Tent and the Luxury Villas each have their own pool. The Kohinoor Villa is the most exclusive option. Check-in is from 14:00 and check-out at noon.

Within the grounds stands a Shiva temple around 300 years old, a reminder of the site's history. For dining, Surya Mahal serves international and Indian dishes throughout the day, and Raj Mahal is the Indian speciality restaurant, open for dinner from 19:00 to 22:00. The Rajwada Library Bar is the place for a drink before or after dinner.

Wellness is a strong point. Asmi by Oberoi is the resort's spa, and there is a swimming pool, fitness centre, and yoga and meditation sessions. The hotel has EV charging. Pets are not allowed. Phone lines have at times been disrupted, so email reservations if you cannot get through.

Rajvilas suits couples, honeymooners and travellers who want calm and space after days of sightseeing, and families who prefer a resort with room to roam. Because it is outside the centre, plan on taxis or hotel transport for trips to the old city, Amber Fort and the bazaars; the drive into central Jaipur is roughly 10 km. Prices are at the very top of the market, and the most sought-after villas and tents sell out in the winter season, so reserve well ahead.

Jaipur Airport is about 15 km away, around 30 minutes by car, making the resort practical for short stays. Agra is around four hours away by road and Delhi a little under five hours, so Rajvilas fits easily into a Golden Triangle itinerary. The resort team can arrange cars for these journeys.
