Hotel
Hôtel Le Negresco
The pink-domed palace of the Promenade des Anglais, a five-star hotel with 130 rooms and suites, a Michelin-starred restaurant and a celebrated art collection.
A five-star hotel behind a Belle Epoque facade dating from 1848, fully renovated, with a rooftop terrace, Anantara spa and around 230 rooms near the Jardin Albert 1er.
Good to know
The Anantara Plaza Nice is one of the grand hotels of central Nice. It opened in 1848 and keeps its Belle Epoque facade on Avenue de Verdun, close to the Jardin Albert 1er, between Place Masséna and the sea. Today it is a five-star hotel run by the Anantara group.
The hotel was fully renovated by a team of interior designers and architects including Jean-Paul Gomis, David Collins and the studio TBC Interiorismo. The aim was to combine period elegance with contemporary luxury, so behind the historic exterior you will find modern rooms and public spaces. With around 230 rooms, including 38 suites, it is larger than most of the city's luxury hotels, which helps with availability in busy periods.
Guests can choose from double and twin rooms, single rooms, rooms adapted for reduced mobility and a wide choice of suites, and the renovation kept the sense of a grand Riviera hotel while adding modern comfort.
The highlight for many guests is the rooftop terrace, which has a panoramic view over the Baie des Anges and the city. The restaurant and bar, SEEN by Olivier Nice, and the Les Colonnades lounge give plenty of choice without leaving the building. The Anantara Spa Nice has a hammam and sauna, and there is a gym. Room service, in-room breakfast, laundry and meeting rooms are available, and valet parking is a real advantage in the centre of Nice.
The hotel is accessible for wheelchair users, with compliant lifts and three rooms adapted for guests with reduced mobility. Ask about room views when you book if they matter to you, and reserve early for the Carnival and the summer season.
Breakfast can be taken in the restaurant or in your room, and the hotel has meeting rooms for business events and private functions, as well as lounge areas where you can work or relax between outings.
The Plaza suits couples, business travellers and families who want a central, full-service hotel within a few minutes of everything. The location is hard to beat: Place Masséna, the Promenade du Paillon and the tram are moments away, the old town is a short walk east, and the beach and the Promenade des Anglais are just across the gardens.
