Mala Audio Bar

Mala Audio Bar brought the listening-bar idea to Medellín. Open since 2024 and part of the Sinmente group, which runs 15 brands, it describes itself as a hi-fi bar dedicated to vinyl culture and analogue aesthetics, and The World's 50 Best guide calls it a temple to two things: analogue music and exceptional cocktails. The newspaper El Colombiano named it among the city's cocktail destinations in 2025.

The room sets the tone. Warm, earthy colours and plenty of wood surround shelves lined with vinyl records and a set of serious DJ decks, and the bar's whole identity is built around high-fidelity sound and vinyl. The 50 Best guide describes the crowd as cool and dedicated, so expect people who have come for the music as much as for the drinks.

The cocktail list combines well-known classics, some of them upgraded, with original house creations. Work It mixes blanco tequila, cognac, watermelon and melon with a black tea and chilli tincture; Jolene combines bourbon, corozo wine and mint, prosecco and absinthe; and Bad Girls brings together Beefeater gin, lime kefir, Bitter Bianco, prosecco and rose cider.

The bar opens from Tuesday to Saturday, from 18:00, closing at midnight on Tuesdays, 1:00 on Wednesdays, 2:00 on Thursdays and Fridays and 2:30 on Saturdays; it is closed on Sundays and Mondays. Entry is free, although the bar reserves the right of admission, and tables can be booked through the website. The bar promotes its list as the best cocktail menu in Medellín, a claim you can test for yourself. Private events can be arranged through the bar's event enquiry form. On the World's 50 Best guide, Mala appears alongside Mamba Negra and Bar Carmen as one of the recommended bars in this part of El Poblado.

Mala suits music lovers, couples and small groups who want conversation and good sound rather than a nightclub.
