Good to know
Quad Adventure Cambodia offers a very different way to see the countryside around Siem Reap. The company runs guided ATV, or quad bike, tours from its base on Country Road Laurent in Svay Dangkum Commune, taking riders out along the outskirts of town and through villages where daily life carries on far from the temple crowds. It has received Tripadvisor's Certificate of Excellence in 2023, 2024 and 2025.
There are tours for every level of time and energy. The Easy Ride Tour lasts about an hour and a quarter around the outskirts and villages, the Discovery Tour about two and a quarter hours, the Explorer Tour three hours and the Half Day Tour four hours, while the Full Day Tour offers eight hours of riding. Several tours have late-afternoon departures timed for sunset, and the Open Tour, which can start at any time during the day, describes a pink sunset over the Cambodian countryside as its highlight.
Combination tours add other activities to the ride. Options include pairing a ride with a spa visit, an evening at Phare, The Cambodian Circus, a pottery session, a cooking class or wakeboarding at a local wake park, and there is a full-day trip to Kulen Mountain. These make it easy to fill a day off from the temples with something active.
Safety is taken seriously. Riders receive safety instructions and their ability is tested before setting off, and helmets and face masks are provided. Wear long trousers and strong shoes. Two adults can share a quad if their combined weight is under 130kg and the driver passes the test. Teenagers aged 14 to 16 must ride with an instructor, and 17-year-olds may ride alone if they are of adult size and pass the test. A driving licence is generally required, though exceptions can be made for experienced riders.
The tours suit adventurous couples, groups of friends and families with teenagers. Expect dust in the dry season and mud in the rainy season, so wear clothes you do not mind getting dirty. Book by phone, WhatsApp, Telegram or through the contact form on the website, and ask about pick-ups from your hotel.
