Good to know
Praha Bike is a local, family-owned company that has been running bike tours and rentals in Prague since 2002. Its shop, office and meeting point are on Dlouhá Street in the Old Town, a few minutes from Old Town Square, which makes it easy to fit a tour into a sightseeing day. Groups are limited to 12 people, so tours feel personal, and riders can choose a classic city bike or an e-bike, which takes the effort out of Prague's hills.
The core tours start at 10:00 and 14:30. Prague Highlights is the classic city tour, lasting two and a half to three hours and covering the main sights of the historic centre. Panoramic Prague and Castle combines the city with its parks and climbs to viewpoints over the river, a route where an e-bike is especially welcome. For a full day, the All-in-One tour lasts about seven hours and combines city and park riding. A River City Bike Tour follows the Vltava, and private tours of one to eight hours can be arranged on request, in the city or the countryside.
Beyond the city, the company runs guided trips to Karlštejn Castle, the Gothic castle south-west of Prague, to the UNESCO-listed park and botanical garden at Průhonice, and to a country brewery at Úněšov. These are a good way to see the Czech countryside without a car. Self-guided tours and multi-day trips are also offered.
For independent riders, Praha Bike rents a wide range of bikes, including city, trekking and gravel bikes, several kinds of e-bike, tandems and children's bikes, with children's equipment and accessories available. Other services include bike and luggage storage, delivery, repairs and sales.
The tours suit active couples, families with older children, groups of friends and anyone who wants to cover more ground than on foot. Cycling in the centre means sharing space with pedestrians, trams and cobbles, so a guided tour is the most comfortable way for visitors to ride. Book ahead in summer. The shop is open daily, from 09:00 to 18:00 in the main season and from 10:00 to 16:00 in winter. The nearest metro station is Náměstí Republiky on line B, and the Dlouhá třída tram stop is close by.
