Attraction
Royal Ontario Museum
Canada's largest museum of world cultures and natural history, on Queen's Park, known for its dinosaur galleries, Chinese collections and Daniel Libeskind's Crystal entrance.
Toronto's 553-metre communications tower on Bremner Boulevard, with a Glass Floor, an outdoor terrace, the higher Top level, a revolving restaurant and the seasonal EdgeWalk.
Good to know
The CN Tower is the defining feature of the Toronto skyline. The 553.3-metre concrete tower opened on 26 June 1976 and was the tallest free-standing structure in the world from 1975 until Burj Khalifa passed it in 2007. It remains the tallest free-standing structure in the Western Hemisphere and is owned by the Canada Lands Company.
A standard visit covers two connected levels near the top of the main pod. The Lower Observation Level, at 342 metres, has the Glass Floor, installed in 1994, and an outdoor terrace, while the Main Observation Level sits at 346 metres. The Top, formerly known as the SkyPod, is a separate and much higher deck at 446.5 metres, so decide before you buy whether you want to add it.
EdgeWalk is the attraction for anyone with a head for heights. Since 2011 it has taken harnessed groups hands-free around a 1.5-metre ledge outside the main pod at 356 metres. It runs seasonally and stops in storms and high winds; the tower listed it as open for the season at the time of writing. 360 The Restaurant, at 351 metres, revolves once every 72 minutes and serves lunch and dinner, and there are also bistros, a café and a shop.
The observation levels open from 10am to 11pm, with last entry at 9pm. Hours on the Main Observation Level are sometimes adjusted for events, as they were on several dates in late October and early November 2026, so check the hours page on the day. With the observation levels open until 11pm, you can choose between a daytime and an evening visit.
The tower suits first-time visitors, families and photographers, and pairs easily with other sights at its base. Ripley's Aquarium of Canada stands just to the south-east and the Rogers Centre, the former SkyDome, is next door. Allow around two hours, more if you add The Top or a meal at 360. The tower also kept the title of the world's tallest tower until Canton Tower overtook it in 2009, and its antenna spire alone adds 96.1 metres. On the observation levels, Le Café opens from 11am to 6pm, while the VUE Bistros stay open until 10pm from Sunday to Thursday and until 10:30pm on Fridays, Saturdays and holidays.
The SkyWalk, a covered walkway opened in 1989, links the tower area with Union Station, so it is easy to reach on foot in any weather.
The observation levels open from 10am to 11pm, with last entry at 9pm.
The Lower Observation Level with the Glass Floor is at 342 metres, the Main Observation Level at 346 metres and The Top at 446.5 metres.
