  • Terrace with old city views
  • Lounge bar
  • Kitchen until 23:00

Why we recommend it

Since 2002 Litera has occupied the roof of the building that houses the Goethe-Institut on Yeni Çarşı Caddesi, the steep street running down from İstiklal near Galatasaray. The terrace looks across the Golden Horn to the historic peninsula, making it one of the more relaxed places in Beyoğlu to watch the city light up.

The kitchen mixes Turkish and international dishes and serves until 23:00, after which the lounge bar carries on until the early hours. It opens from 17:00 and is closed on Sundays except for private events. Arrive before sunset for the best of the view, and look for the entrance on the right as you walk about 60 metres downhill from İstiklal.
