Four Seasons Hotel Amman
A five-star hotel on Fifth Circle, high on one of Amman's seven hills, with a spa using Dead Sea ingredients, a seasonal pool and La Capitale…
A modern boutique hotel of spacious suites near Second Circle, a five-minute walk from Rainbow Street, with a rooftop terrace, pool and gym.
Good to know
The House Boutique Suites is a modern, all-suite hotel close to Second Circle in Jabal Amman, about a five-minute walk from Rainbow Street. Its location puts guests close to the shops, restaurants, cafés and shisha bars of the street, and Downtown, the Roman Theatre and the Citadel are a short taxi ride away.
As the name suggests, accommodation is in suites rather than standard rooms, ranging from 45 square metres to 220 square metres. The largest, the Royal Suite, has a private terrace of 100 square metres overlooking the old city. All suites have air conditioning, free wifi, en-suite bathrooms and flat-screen televisions, and the design is understated and modern, with elegant furnishings and a minimalist look that blends traditional touches with contemporary style.
Facilities include an outdoor pool, a fitness centre and a rooftop terrace, and a buffet breakfast is served daily in the dining area. There is no restaurant within the hotel itself, but a Lebanese restaurant serving lunch and dinner, which offers a discount to hotel guests, and a small bar are attached to the building.
The hotel suits couples, families and longer-staying visitors who appreciate the extra space of a suite, and travellers who want to be within walking distance of Rainbow Street without staying in a large international hotel. It offers a more personal, residential feel than the large chain hotels, and the suites give room to spread out after a day of sightseeing, which families in particular will appreciate.
It is also well placed for eating out: Shawerma Reem's famous corner stand is on Second Circle, Fakhreldin is nearby on Taha Hussein Street, and Sufra, Al Quds Falafel and the rooftop bars of Rainbow Street are a short walk away. For sightseeing beyond the city, Jerash is about an hour's drive north, and full-day tours combining Jerash, Ajloun and Umm Qais are popular.
When booking, ask for a suite with a view of the old city if one is available, and check whether breakfast is included in your rate. The rooftop terrace is a pleasant place for an evening drink before heading out to dinner, and the pool is welcome on hot summer afternoons after a morning of walking around Downtown.
