Sarabi Rooftop
The rooftop pool deck and lounge of the Sankara hotel in Westlands, with skyline views, signature cocktails, sharing plates and live music or DJs several nights…
A hidden cocktail bar in Spring Valley, open since 2019 and listed among the Middle East and Africa's top bars, with seasonal cocktails and a whisky lounge.
Good to know
Revolver has become one of the leading names in Nairobi's fast-growing cocktail scene since it opened in 2019. It is a hidden bar in the residential area of Spring Valley, and its exact location is shared only once you have a booking confirmation, which adds to the sense of occasion. It is run by Blind Tiger Hospitality and describes its approach as classic technique, seasonal ideas and serious spirits.
The bar has collected serious recognition. It was named in the regional Top 10 for the Middle East and Africa at the Spirited Awards in 2022, 2025 and 2026, and it has been listed on The World's 50 Best Discovery guide since 2022. Members of the team hold WSET qualifications in spirits, and the bar has been represented on the judging panel for Diageo World Class Kenya.
The interior pairs exposed brick and wood with details that nod to the bar's name, and the mood is intimate rather than loud. The cocktail menu changes by season: the Season Four menu, called Fine Print, has eight cocktails, alongside house originals, elemental signatures and classics. Signatures have included the Rémy Martin Gold Fashioned and the Nairobi Skyline, a mix of bourbon, rye, single malt and peated Scotch with amaretto. Whisky drinkers should ask about the Glenlivet Lounge, a dedicated space for private pours, guided tastings and small gatherings, and the bar is known for an extensive Scotch selection. Small plates and bar food are available.
Revolver opens from Tuesday to Saturday from 19:00, with closing times that vary. Reservations are taken for those nights through the booking page on the website, and larger groups need to pay a redeemable deposit. It is strictly for adults. Expect prices at the top of the Nairobi range, as you would at any specialist cocktail bar.
It suits cocktail enthusiasts, couples on a special night out and whisky lovers, rather than anyone looking for a dance floor. Book a few days ahead for Friday and Saturday, and use a taxi or ride-hailing app to reach Spring Valley, which is a short drive from Westlands and Gigiri. Pair it with dinner at INTI in Westlands for a full evening of Nairobi's best-regarded drinks.
