Big Brother Naija Season 5: Eviction, Shock and Drama

Last week was not exactly eventful on big brother Naija season 5, until Saturday night. Great, mind-blowing music. Kudos to the awesome DJ Big N. He had many people grooving in their houses. But then, amidst all the merriment there was a hint of trepidation. Sunday was the first live eviction show and while the Big Brother Naija public forum made some pretty accurate predictions, some things did not go according to plan.

First,

There seems to be some sort of bad blood between Nengi’s fans and Dorathy’s fans. It looks like trouble is brewing gradually on the horizon. But, why would their fans not like each other? The girls haven’t crossed each other or stepped on toes, have they? Or could this be because of a certain someone? Our lips are sealed! Someone might be perceiving another as a threat. Hehe. Trust the fans to crush anyone who is in their way. Truth be told, an alliance would be in the best interests of both fandoms. Think about it, the alliance of the boobies and the booty. Girl power!

And,

It seems like Erica has earned herself some diehard loyalists. The babe is on a steady roll and is not disappointing her fan base. A name should come up soon for these loyal fans. The same way Tacha’s fans last year were called Titans. What would be a good name for Erica’s loyalists? Her fans are to be readily admired. They are doggedly consistent and are very passionate about amassing votes for their queen. A round of drinks for all of them.

And now, to the evictions…

The top 9 housemates judging from the number of viewers’ votes were Erica, Ozo, Dora, Nengi, Kiddwaya, Laycon, Neo, and Brighto. The Head and deputy head of house were safe from eviction, that’s Lucy and Prince. The bottom 9 housemates were Vee, Tolanibaj, Tochi, Kaisha, Trikytee, Lilo, Eric, Praise, and Ka3na. (where was Wathoni?). The housemates had to nominate two people from the bottom four (Lilo, Erica, Praise, and Ka3na) and the majority went with Ka3na and Lilo.

Ka3na

Ka3na’s eviction didn’t come as much of a surprise to anyone. Nobody likes obnoxious and bossy. Its safe to say that she handled her eviction from the house like a pro. She said she would be able to focus on her brand now. we have been hearing about that brand since the beginning of forever. Ka3na had better not disappoint. Does anyone know what her brand is about?

Lilo

Lilo’s eviction was disappointing. BBN enthusiasts had different reactions varying from serves her right to pity to shock. Admittedly, Lilo did not do a good job of cultivating relationships with anyone in the house apart from her love interest, Eric. What was more shocking was Eric’s reaction to her eviction. Wait, there wasn’t a reaction, he was seen hustling for noodles! Classic case of use, dump and move on. Poor Lilo. At least she has a Masters’ degree to look forward to.

But…

It was obvious, however, that most of the housemates wanted Eric and Lilo gone. Maybe they wanted them to continue their lovefest outside the house. But that wasn’t the case. In the words of a BBN enthusiast, “last night was a classic display of bros before chicks”. Another BBN fan said, “the games have suddenly changed, and it doesn’t help that the girls are jumping from one man to another”. True or not? It looks like the girls are beginning to jump ship and abandon ship, hahahahaha.

In other news,

Praise and Ka3na had sex! Right before she was evicted! Surprise! It came as a surprise to everyone. The pair were not particularly close. It is safe to say that someone got it out of their system, heh. Congratulations to whoever is deserving of it. Someone said Ka3na went to the house to increase her body count. Hmmm.

Erica and Kiddwaya did it! Or did not do it, we are not entirely clear on that. But it was last night! Now, mixed reactions are trailing this development. Some BBN enthusiasts are disappointed, because they feel Kiddwaya is only playing Erica. It is true that Kiddwaya has the markings of an efficient playboy. Erica fans are loving their queen all the more and reaffirming their devotions over and over again. Well, most of them. Some feel like the queen is losing concentration and may get kicked to the curb. We have our fingers crossed.

Also,

Laycon is slowly emerging as a very serious contender for the prize money. He’s avoiding entanglements, he is sticking all the ladies in the friend zone and chilling with the guys. In other words, do not underestimate Laycon.

Brighto is still in the game. Are we shocked? Someone said the evangelist gave a prophecy about the evictions. Hmmm. An unfair advantage, perhaps? It does beg the question, who is voting for Brighto? They should acknowledge themselves publicly. His memes are great too.

Nengi, anyone?

Nengi is playing with sense. She is being clearheaded and ruthless. Somewhat. It looks like something big is going to happen between her, Ozo, and Dorathy. Maybe it is why her fans are calling out Dorathy’s fans. Call it the battle of the loyalists.

The story is she was gumming body to Ozo and then told him she was in an off and on relationship with a guy outside the house and didn’t want the guy to think she was flaky or something. Yes, you are as amused as we are. Ozo had sense enough and gave her the space she wanted. Now, she’s complaining to Neo that Ozo is giving her attitude. Hmmm. What exactly does Nengi want?

Ozo looks like he’s going after Dorathy since Nengi gave him the flip. Dorathy does not seem eager to start a ship with Ozo. Smart girl. We hope she doesn’t lose “focus”. Praise is everyone’s favorite male housemate after Laycon, of course. He is cool. He has “bestified” everyone and is not looking forward to shipping with anyone anytime soon. Or so it seems.

Finally,

With these recent developments and the first evictions, it is clear that the housemates are going to up their game. Strategies should be reviewed and we are hoping that mutually beneficial “alliances” would be formed. Hehehheeheeh! Fandoms take note!
