Hotel
The Manila Hotel
A heritage grand hotel opened in 1912 at the edge of Rizal Park, with a MacArthur Suite, a heritage museum and classic restaurants.
An all-suite Raffles hotel in central Makati, opened in 2012 and awarded One Michelin Key, with a Writers Bar, Long Bar and rooftop Mistral.
Good to know
Raffles Makati opened to guests on 3 December 2012 in the Makati Central Business District, bringing the Raffles name to Manila. It is an all-suite hotel with 32 suites, which makes it far smaller and more intimate than most luxury hotels in the city. In October 2025 it was one of only two Metro Manila hotels to receive a Michelin Key, the guide's new distinction for hotels, marking it as a very special stay.
The suites are the core of the experience, and with so few of them the hotel can offer a quieter, more personal atmosphere than the big towers around it. In-suite dining is available around the clock. Guests can use the Raffles Pool and the Fairmont Spa.
The hotel's bars and restaurants are a draw in their own right. Writers Bar is a tribute to the writers who frequented Raffles Singapore, and the Long Bar is a lively cocktail bar on the lobby level. Mistral is a rooftop bar with views of the skyline, and Mirèio is a Provence-inspired brasserie on the ninth floor serving French and Mediterranean dishes. Spectrum offers all-day dining, the Fairmont Lounge serves locally inspired dishes and Café Macaron sells pastries and treats to take away.
Book directly through the hotel for the full range of suites and packages, and ask about the latest offers on dining and spa use. Rooftop drinks at Mistral are best timed for sunset, when the skyline lights up.
Because the hotel is so small, suites can sell out around holidays and major events in the business district, so reserve early if your dates are fixed. When booking, mention any special occasion or preferences for views and bedding, as a smaller hotel can often prepare for these in advance. For dinner beyond the hotel, Helm, Hapag and the Bib Gourmand restaurants of Makati are a short ride away, and the Ayala Museum is close for a cultural morning.
The hotel sits on Makati Avenue in the heart of the business district, within easy reach of Greenbelt, Ayala Triangle Gardens and the Ayala Museum. Intramuros and the old city are a taxi ride away. Raffles Makati suits couples, honeymooners and business travellers who value space and privacy, and anyone who wants a suite rather than a standard room.
