Man United Back In For 9-Assists Towering Serbia International
Manchester United are rivalling Real Madrid in the hunt to sign Sergej Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio in the summer, according to a recent report by Italian publication La Gazzetta Dello Sport.
He has come leaps and bounds since signing for Lazio from the Jupiler Pro League outfit Genk in the summer of 2015.
Now considered as one of the best midfielders in Serie A, in spite of blowing hot and cold at times, the 26-year-old star has been a mainstay for Biancocelesti over the last half-a-dozen years while also drawing comparisons with the Red Devils midfielder Paul Pogba for his style of play.
The ongoing campaign has been a reasonably productive one for the Serbian star, who has a tally of seven goals and nine assists in 26 Serie A games.
Sergej’s continued progress has meant that some of the biggest sides in the world have still been keeping a watchful eye on his displays, with the suitors including Manchester United and Real Madrid.
While recent reports have suggested that Paul could stay put at Old Trafford, the super-agent Mino Raiola continues to stir the pot time and again regarding his client’s status at the club.
Sergej, though, will be a like-for-like replacement for Paul, if the Frenchman calls it quits with United.
Apart from the aforementioned teams, Paris Saint-Germain have also rekindled their pursuit of Sergej, who could be open to leaving his side if they fail to qualify for the UEFA Champions League, as per the report.
