He, however, appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to continue addressing the grievances expressed by the youths and layout programmes that meet and addressed the objective of the protest. Abdusalami also lamented the hijacking of the protest by criminals resulting in violence and destruction of government critical infrastructure and private properties as well as the criminal release of prisoners. He added that this had forced the government to send security agencies to restore law and order which unfortunately further led to the loss of more innocent lives.

It was reported that the demand was made by the convener of the group, Comrade Ikechukwu Obinna at a press conference in Abuja on Thursday, October 22. The group hailed youths in the country for speaking with one voice over the last two weeks through peaceful demonstrations against police brutality.
